British students embrace their Hong Kong exchange

On 3 November 2023, the OGE hosted Mr Ian Jones, Head of International Partnerships from the UK’s Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU). Mr Jones met with the two MMU students on yearlong exchanges at Lingnan, Mr Angus Richard Flint and Mr William Joseph Robert Smith, to chat with them about their experiences studying and living in Hong Kong.

Although Hong Kong was not initially on their radar as an exchange destination, both Angus and William were very much impressed by their stay at Lingnan and made the most of their time in Hong Kong. They soon settled into their academic routines and hostel living at Lingnan, and found Hong Kong easy to navigate with its good public transport system and enjoyed the natural beauty of the hiking trails. They were excited about the months ahead in Hong Kong.

The meeting concluded with a campus tour, and Mr Jones enjoyed his first-hand experience of the facilities and resources available to students at Lingnan. The visit highlighted the importance of international partnerships and the value of exchange programmes, which can provide students with unique experiences.
